Victim's Body On I-880 Following Crash
The CHP reports that the car door was ripped off during the crash and the victim was thrown onto the pavement.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — One woman was killed in a crash on southbound Interstate Highway 880 in San Leandro around 11 a.m. Tuesday when her car door was ripped off by the force of the crash and the woman was thrown onto the pavement of the highway, according to the CHP. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
The car was driven by Alejandro Casillasvilla of Oakland. He suffered just minor injuries in the wreck, according to the official CHP report. He was driving erratically prior to the crash, weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed before he lost control of the car and crashed into the semi, witnesses told the CHP.
The driver of the semi, identified as Joel Gallardo of Atwater, was not injured. He pulled onto the shoulder of the road following the crash and cooperated with investigators.

After the crash, the three right lanes were closed for about three hours, causing traffic to back up past the Oakland Coliseum.
For a time, San Leandro Police prevented traffic from entering the freeway at Marina Boulevard in an attempt to reduce congestion.

Semi trucks were allowed on I-580 because of the crash, increasing congestion there.
