Hasta La Vista Chevys

The Chevys restaurant in Bay Fair Center closed recently and a sign on the glass door directs die-hard patrons to the nearest local outlet in Union City.

The parent company of Chevys restaurants filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October. Some stores were closed immediately but the San Leandro outlet had lingered.

The Silicon Valley Business Journal reported at the time that the chain's owner, Real Mex Restaurants, had to sell off assets because it couldn't reach an agreement to restructure its debt obligations.

It was not immediately known how many jobs were lost as a result of the closure.
