Santana Percussionist Shares Talents With SLHS Students

Karl Perazzo's credentials are extensive. He's a world renowned percussionist, musical director for Carlos Santana and Santana's percussionist. The list of names of those that he's worked with is near endless.

However, you wouldn't know that to meet him. A humble man, Perazzo works hard at his craft and at giving back. 

"It's my responsibility to inspire the next inspirers" Perazzo said. 

On Tuesday evening Perazzo teamed up with San Leandro's Keep Music Rockin' Foundation in a training clinic at San Leandro High School's Arts Entertainment Center.

During the clinic Perazzo demonstrated Afro-Cuban instruments including congas, timables and bongos.

San Leandro high students turned out to hear his exhibition. Perazzo told them that while he is a rock and roller, he never drank or used drugs.
