Looting In San Leandro 'Not Tolerated,' BART Station Closes

Now is a time to come together and respect each other, San Leandro Chief of Police says. "We will not tolerate looting of any kind."

SAN LEANDRO, CA —The San Leandro Police Department responded to several retail shopping centers in San Leandro, Sunday night, to keep the peace.

Officers arrived at the Bayfair Mall, Marina Square, and Walmart, as of 8 p.m.
Police informed the public to stay away from the area until further notice.

While protesters have gathered to decry the killing of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, many protests have been overshadowed by looting.

In Walnut Creek,multiple stores were looted and vandalized Sunday afternoon.
