Marijuana Grow House Found in San Leandro

The discovery was made when firefighters put out a blaze at the home.

SAN LEANDRO, CA- Police in San Leandro are investigating the discovery of a marijuana grow house following a residential fire that occurred Thursday.

On Thursday at 12:25 p.m., Alameda County firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 14700 block of Lark Street.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered an illegal marijuana grow operation inside the residence.

Detectives with the San Leandro Police Department initiated an investigation and recovered 240 marijuana plants in various rooms inside the house.

Police said the operation was capable of producing enough marijuana each year that could yield more than $144,000 in annual sales.

As of Thursday night, there were no reported arrests in the case.
