Body of Missing San Leandro Woman Found; 2 Suspects Arrested

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Two suspects have been arrested for the death of a 21-year-old San Leandro woman whose body was found in a creek at the Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center in East Oakland on Thursday, police said.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office filed a missing persons report for Karla Ramirez-Segoviano, a volunteer with the agency, on Wednesday. On Thursday, ACSO expressed concern about her disappearance.

Unfortunately, there had already been an unpleasant outcome. She was found unresponsive at the park just before noon on Thursday, Oakland police said.

The two suspects were arrested after an investigation by homicide investigators, patrol officers and crime reduction teams, police said.
Investigators will be forwarding the case to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office for review and charging, according to police.

Ramirez-Segoviano had last been seen at about 10 p.m. when she dropped off a friend on 136th Avenue in San Leandro. Deputies located her vehicle at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday near Happyland Avenue and West A Street in Hayward, near Interstate Highway 880, but she has no known friends in that area, according to the sheriff's office.
Oakland police said they aren't releasing any additional information about the case, such as Ramirez-Segoviano's cause of death and the suspects' names, at this time.
