Police Investigate Armed Robbery at San Leandro Ace Hardware
Police say the suspect used a small handgun during the robbery and got away with a small amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot.

Police this morning are investigating a Monday armed robbery at an Ace Hardware store in San Leandro. Officers responded at 11:55 a.m. to the store in the 500 block of Dutton Avenue.
The storeowner and his teenage daughter were inside the business when a suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses entered the store, pointed a small handgun at the owner’s back and demanded cash from the register, police said. The suspect stole a small amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot. Police described the suspect as an African American man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
He was last seen running on Arbor Avenue toward Oaks Boulevard, where police believe a vehicle was waiting for him.
