San Leandro Educator Elected President Of Community College Board
Mrs. Isobel Dvorsky has represented San Leandro on the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District board since 1985. This is her sixth stint as president.

Mrs. Isobel Dvorsky, a long-time member of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, was elected president of the Board at its latest meeting held at the district office.
Mrs. Dvorsky is a former speech therapist who was first elected to the board in 1985 to represent San Leandro. This is her sixth turn as president.
Her extensive activities in San Leandro include serving as:

- a board member and past president of the Davis Street Family Resource Center;
- a board member and past president of the San Leandro Scholarship Foundation;
- an advisory board member of the San Leandro Education Foundation;
- and a founding member and past president of the Political Action Committee for Excellence.
In her capacity has a community college leader Mrs. Dvorsky has served as:
- the district's trustee representative on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges;
- the national president of the Association of Community College Trustees;
- the president of the California Community College Trustees Association;
- and as a founding member of the Community College League of California.
The district has two campuses: Chabot College in Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore.
