San Leandro Man ID'd as Victim of West Oakland Crash
BREAKING: The man's vehicle struck a pillar Monday night on Seventh and Willow streets, officials said.

WEST OAKLAND, CA – A speeding driver who died in a fiery crash into a concrete pillar in West Oakland on Monday night was identified by the Alameda County coroner today as 49-year-old Tomas Francesco Rossi of San Leandro.
The crash was reported at 10:24 p.m. on Monday in the area of Seventh and Willow streets, near the Post Office, police said.
It appears that Rossi was speeding west on Seventh Street approaching Willow when he lost control of the car and crashed into the pillar, according to police.

The vehicle caught fire after the crash and Rossi was trapped inside the car, according to firefighters. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
