San Leandro Police Assist With Homicide Investigation

The city's license plate readers flagged a vehicle connected to an East Bay homicide as it drove in San Leandro.

SAN LEANDRO — San Leandro Police are crediting the department's automated license plate readers, named Flock, with taking a potentially violent person off the streets.

Flock flagged a vehicle in San Leandro over the weekend that was associated with a homicide in Richmond, according to police.

The vehicle was stopped and the person detained until Richmond Police arrived to take custody of both.
