Sign-Up For San Leandro Marina, Shoreline Cleanup

It's part of California Coastal Cleanup Day 2018.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Keeping California's coastline clean starts inland and runs to the Bay or ocean. That gives residents an opportunity to participate in the state's annual Coastal Cleanup day right in their own communities, including here in San Leandro. The effort helps keep plastics and other pollution out of the ocean, and out of our food chain.

Alameda County communities are a big player in California Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year, over 5,000 volunteers picked up nearly 60,000 pounds of debris. Organizers hope to surpass that effort this year.

The 34th California Coastal Cleanup Day will be held on Sept. 15 and sign-ups are underway so that organizers can properly plan for the correct number of volunteers.
