Students Plan Rally At San Leandro High To Echo #Occupy Wall Street Protests
Demonstration planned for Friday at 3 p.m.
The students of the Social Justice Academy at plan to hold a demonstration in front of the school at 3 p.m. Friday as part of a national wave of Occupy events.
The Meetup announcement for the event said the rally is "to give the youth a voice because the youth are part of the 99% too."
The local demonstration is part of a network called Occupy Together, a collection of groups in more than 450 cities that are supporting the Occupy Wall Street rallies in New York City.

The Occupy Wall Street website urges Americans to copy the mass rallies of the Arab Spring to bring about nonviolent change to what protestors say is the 1 percent of people who hold down the other 99 percent.
A Wikipedia entry says the Social Justice Academy was established in 2007 to teach students how to give back to society through community service projects.

The event also has attracted some crowds to downtown San Francisco, where protesters associated with the group "Occupy SF" have been camping
out in the city's Financial District for the last couple of weeks.
The group staged several demonstrations and events Wednesday, including a midday march through the city's Civic Center in which some 200 people marched up Polk Street.
