Traffic Woes On Highway 92, I-880

HAYWARD, CA — If you're trying to get to the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge, you're going to run into a traffic nightmare.

Multiple lanes of westbound state Highway 92 in Hayward are closed for emergency repair work, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The lanes have been closed since 2:30 Tuesday afternoon between the Hesperian
Boulevard on-ramp and the Industrial Boulevard off-ramp.

As a result, southbound Interstate Highway 880 is backed up from the bridge to I-580.

They had hoped to have 92 open by 6 a.m., but that has been pushed back to 7. When the road reopens, there will be a ton of residual traffic.
