• San Marino High's National Ranking Is a 'Proud Moment' (outlooknewspapers.com) — San Marino High School is starting the year with national recognition, ranking 164th in the U.S. and 19th in California in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 Best High Schools list. District leaders credit the community's support, strong AP participation, and dedicated staff for keeping SMHS among the top 1% of public high schools nationwide. 
• San Marino Board Clerk Won't Seek Reelection (outlooknewspapers.com subscription) — San Marino Unified board clerk Joanna Lam will not seek reelection when her term ends in December 2026, opening a key seat that helped shepherd Measure M and Mandarin immersion. Lam, a Carver Elementary parent, says she's stepping back to focus on family but plans to stay active in the school community and local public service.
