San Marino firefighters use ice-filled bags for heatstroke treatment (abc7.com) — San Marino firefighters are now using ice-filled plastic bags to rapidly cool heatstroke patients during the current heat wave, and they say the method can be lifesaving. Paramedics keep the bags and ice on their rigs, demonstrated the process this week, and recently used it to safely bring down a local man's dangerously high body temperature.

Backpack Donations Help Carry Hope Through Kindness (outlooknewspapers.com) — San Marino students with the East Meets West Parent Education Club led backpack drives that helped families recovering from the Eaton Fire and others across the region. Teens from San Marino High School organized fundraising, shopping, and packing to fill 54 backpacks with school supplies and essentials, gaining leadership experience while directly supporting neighbors in need.
