• Carver and Valentine Elementary Students Get a Taste of Speech & Debate (pasadenanow.com) — Fourth- and fifth-graders at Carver and Valentine in San Marino will soon be able to join a new Speech & Debate program, previewed in an assembly led by San Marino High School students. Parents are urged to watch for details on an upcoming info night and how to enroll. The district highlights its broader commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. 
• Camerata Pacifica to Launch 37th Season With Rachmaninoff and Schubert (broadwayworld.com) — World-class chamber ensemble Camerata Pacifica is bringing its season-opening Rachmaninoff and Schubert program to The Huntington's Rothenberg Hall in San Marino on Tuesday, October 13. Residents can hear pianist Irina Zahharenkova joined by violinist Grace Park and cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia in an intimate evening of virtuosic chamber music. Tickets are $85 for the San Marino performance and available through Camerata Pacifica's website.
