- Whiz Kid's School: Chandler School
- Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Starting at the age of five, Kara was actively involved in school performances. At the age of six, Kara’s “opera” talent was discovered and she was invited to participate in a Chinese theater drama called “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter”. Last fall she participated with the prestigious “Beijing Opera House” from China when they performed the famous play, “Journey to the West” in the U.S.. Also, last summer, Kara was part of the John Robert Powers talent agency in Hollywood and competed in the international presentation of performers. Recently she was cast with several headline actors from China to perform a drama named “Village” which was presented in China, Taiwan, and the U.S. Kara took part in the U.S. production.
- Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Kara’s key to awesomeness is not only in her accomplishments at such a young age, but her disposition to act with kindness. Kara’s teachers always comment on how she is a highly artistically-talented, daring, spontaneous and most of all a compassionate, caring individual. Ever since she was young, she exuded an aura of sincerity and modesty whenever you approached her with anything. Kara loves performing in the Chinese Opera because of the “face paintings”, “spontaneous movements”, and “swaying songs” that express the different human emotions and nuances of the characters. She examines the different scenes that contain moral lessons and virtues that the play contains, and in turn, interprets the messages to connect with the audience. These different emotions and personalities of the characters help Kara understand how interpersonal communication is perceived amongst people. The most unique aspect of Kara is her undying respect for her grandmother, Dr. Hwei-Chiu Cheng Sun, an extraordinary educator from Taiwan. She hopes to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps as a renowned educator and even started writing a book in the third graded titled “Angels vs. Devils” with a message that good deeds will sow good outcomes. She continues to strive for excellence and cultivates her passion in Chinese Opera because of the joy in performing for an audience.
