All Invited to ‘Latkepalooza’

PJCC celebration includes tunes, games -- and plenty of latkes.

The will host its annual Hanukkah celebration on Sunday.

The PJCC event is typically among the Peninsula’s most popular annual Hanukkah events, drawing 400 to 600 people.

The event features a festival atmosphere with food and music and is free and open to the public.

The PJCC has heralded the event “Latkepalooza,” a play on the winter holiday staple. As the name suggests, celebrants can expect plenty of latkes -- deep-fired potato pancakes, traditionally served with applesauce or sour cream.

Local band “Go Van Gogh" will perform an original blend of toe-tapping klezmer and folk music.

The event will also include olive oil and wine tasting, arts and crafts for children, and a community sing-a-long. A candle lighting ceremony will close out the festivities.
