SAN MATEO, CA — CuriOdyssey, a self-described science playground and zoo in San Mateo, was ranked among the top 20 zoos in the country, based on a recent USA Today report compiled in part from Yelp reviews, according to officials.
According to the USA Today article, CuriOdyssey came in at No. 19 for its up-close animal encounters, interactive exhibits and hands-on science and art programs. To identify these selectees, 24/7 looked at a total of 272 zoos, within the zoo category on Yelp in or near the top 1,000 U.S. cities by population, editors said.
"More than just a zoo, this science playground, located just south of San Francisco, allows kids to get up close to wild animals and experiment with science through exhibits," the review said.
