DUI Checkpoint Time And Place Announced For This San Mateo County Town
Police said they will be conducting an upcoming DUI checkpoint and have just announced when and where.
BELMONT, CA — Police will hold a DUI checkpoint Thursday in Belmont and have announced when it will take place, police said.
The Belmont Police Department has planned a DUI checkpoint for 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Belmont, police said.
“By removing impaired drivers from our roadways, we are making our community safer,” Chief Stenquist said. “Sobriety Checkpoints are also a strong tool for educating motorists and deterring impaired driving.”

Police said they determine checkpoint locations based on data that shows incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.

The BPD are reminding the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol but also some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Cannabis may be legal to use in California but it is still illegal to drive under the influence, police said.
