Quake Rattles Peninsula

The quake was reported just off the coastline of the San Mateo County-Santa Cruz County border.

SANTA MATEO COUNTY, CA — A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was reported Thursday morning off the coast of the San Mateo County-Santa Cruz County border.

The earthquake — 4.7 miles deep —was felt at 9 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Its epicenter was located about 12 miles northwest of Bonny Doon.

A map indicated the quake was adjacent to Año Nuevo State Park.
