Annie, The Musical

More than 75 talented local thespians from Peninsula communities will star June 17 – 26 in the Pied Piper Players community theatre special presentation of Annie, the beloved and timeless musical that now has a local twist!

Annie features a cast of players entirely comprised of residents of Peninsula communities that include Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City and many more. This spirited local performance can be seen June 17, 18 and 19 and again June 25 and 26 at the College of San Mateo Theatre, 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd. in San Mateo.

The original Broadway production of Annie opened in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, setting a record for the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre).[1] It spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical's songs "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard-Knock Life" are among its most popular musical numbers.
