Los Angeles Times By Louis Sachar Holes is a modern grown-up fairy tale with a charming ending that comes full circle after a variety of perambulations. Stanley Yelnats, whose only claim to fame is that his full name was spelled the same forward and backwards, was from a poor family. But his past and the past of bandits, rustlers, Kissin Kate Barlow and all his friends catch up with him and they solve the mystery of both his family curse and the mystery of Camp Green Lake.
