Master Pie Making Series

Spring Master Piemaking Series

Join Piemakers Julie and Mary in a trio of classes that will have you mastering several different pie crusts and making sweet pies, tarts and galettes like a pro!

All classes are completely hands on and participating piemakers will go home with a delicous pie that they made that day.

Class One:  April 21:   Master the pie crust, learn to weave a lattice top and decorative double crust.  Piemakers will leave the class with a homemade fruit pie they made and an understanding of the basic recipe for classic fruit pies and the rustic galette too!

Class Two:  May 12:  Will be all about tarts and cream pies.  We’ll start with Pate Sucree, the traditional French crust used for tarts, as well as a variety of crumb crusts for your cream pies.  Piemakers will master the basic cream pie filling and Creme Patissiere  for tarts as well as making one to take home.

Class Three:  June  23:  We’ll learn how to make the classic Mile High Lemon Meringue, a lemon chess pie, and since berries are in season, we’ll make a bumble berry pie with a crumble topping.  Plan to master two meringues, the French Meringue and the Swiss Meringue and take home a bumble berry pie too!

Piemakers taking the series will not only master the art of making pie crust, but also have a deep understanding of the basic structure of fruit pies, cream pies, tart and galettes that will last a life time.
