Memorial To Be Held For Baby Found Dead At Recycling Center
The memorial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Los Gatos Memorial Park in San Jose.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — A group started by a South Bay woman hopes to give a baby boy some dignity in death that he never got in life later this week.
Little Treasures will be joined by law enforcement officials from as far as the Central Valley at a memorial service for a baby whose body was found at a recycling center last year.
The group, which was founded by American Medical Response supervisor Virginia Jones in 2005, provides burials for abandoned and unclaimed babies.

The group has buried over 40 abandoned babies, Jones said.
They will bury an infant whose body was found by police on the conveyer belt at the GreenWaste Recovery facility at 625 Charles St. at around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 of last year, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The memorial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Los Gatos Memorial Park (2255 Los Gatos Almaden Rd.) in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol, American Medical Response, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and several fire agencies have actively supported the group, with employees regularly attending memorial services and acting as pall bearers at the services, Jones said.
Officer Art Montiel of the CHP’s Redwood City bureau and officers from San Jose and Stockton will be among those in attendance at Wednesday's memorial.
“It’s important to raise awareness about this issue, especially since we have more options available to us nowadays,” Montiel told Patch.
“You’re dealing with an innocent life that could have possibly been saved should the parents had decided to ask for help. No kid deserves to be left abandoned.
“We thank Mrs. Virginia Jones of ‘Little Treasures’ and all the volunteers for providing a final resting place for these babies.”
