"It’s one thing to produce in your own area but to have others invite you to be their Nutcracker is a testament to the quality of the production and to the reputation of the entire company," he said.

Since its founding in 1965, the Peninsula Ballet Theatre in San Mateo has become the second oldest dance company in the Bay Area.

The Nutcracker, the ballet's signature production, differs from others, many of which
are recital vehicles for students. The professional cast starts its day with company class, then rehearses in Peninsula Ballet Theatre’s five new studios.
