Photo Of San Mateo Sexual Assault Suspect Released

​Police said the assault occurred Wednesday at around 10:40 p.m. at 9th Avenue and S El Camino Real.

SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo Police Department has released a photos of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her 60s, the agency announced in a news release Sunday.

Police said the assault occurred Wednesday at around 10:40 p.m. at 9th Avenue and S El Camino Real.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned male in his late teens to early 20s, with dark outgrown or curly hair, police said.

Authorities are in possession of a sliver bicycle the suspect had and a read sweatshirt he was wearing at the time of the attack but are asking anyone who may have seen him in the past to contact authorities.

He was last seen walking southwest from 9th Avenue and S El Camino Real.

Police are asking anyone with security cameras in the broader area of where the suspect was last seen to review their camera footage for any person on foot or riding a bicycle on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 p.m.
