Rain, Thunderstorm On The Way! San Mateo's Work Week Forecast

If you're planning your week on the Peninsula, be sure those plans include an umbrella. Forecasters are calling for rain throughout much of the work week. And though Tuesday is expected to be mostly dry and mild, a change is coming Wednesday.

"A pattern change will bring periods of rain to the region from late Wednesday through the end of the week," the NWS forecast discussion said. "Showers may linger into Saturday, but for the most part the upcoming weekend looks dry."

Today
Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Light north wind.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday
A chance of rain, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. High near 63. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night
Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of rain. Low around 54. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday
A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. South wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
