San Mateo County Reports 26 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County Health reported 26 additional coronavirus cases Monday.

The latest report brings the countywide case count to 9,897.

The county reported no additional coronavirus-related fatalities Monday, leaving its COVID-19 death toll at 150.

There were 29 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in San Mateo County as of Monday, of which nine were being treated in intensive care units.

Elsewhere around the Bay Area and beyond, San Mateo County will provide three days of free COVID-19 testing at two locations in Daly City starting Monday and running through Wednesday, Supervisor David Canepa said Sunday.

Monday's mobile testing will be conducted by Verily at Serramonte High School, 699 Serramonte Blvd. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Testing will include children 5 years and older at Tuesday and Wednesday's site as part of a collaboration with Daly City Partnership at the corner of Southgate Avenue and Lake Merced Boulevard (the parking lot next to the closed Burlington Coat Factory whose address is 99 Southgate Ave.) between 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The GLBT Historical Society Museum in San Francisco's Castro District announced Monday it will reopen later this week after having been closed for more than six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The museum, which is the country's first stand-alone museum dedicated to LGBTQ history, is set to reopen on Thursday for members, and will reopen to the public on Saturday.

Moving forward, the museum will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., museum officials said.

There have been 811,751 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15,627 coronavirus-related deaths in California as of Monday afternoon according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The United States had 7,143,521 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 205,003 coronavirus-related fatalities as of Monday afternoon.

There have been 33,238,168 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 999,667 deaths reported globally as of Monday afternoon.
