San Mateo County Reports 41 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County Health reported 41 additional cases of the new coronavirus Thursday.
The report brings the countywide total of COVID-19 cases to 1,738.
The county reported no additional coronavirus-related fatalities, leaving its death toll at 75.

There are currently 71 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in San Mateo County, of which 48 are being treated in intensive care units.

Elsewhere in the Bay Area, San Francisco Pride will hold its 50th pride celebration online next month due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, pride organizers announced Wednesday.
The celebration will take place on June 27 and 28 and will include live performances, speeches from elected officials and LGBTQ leaders, as well as appearances by the Pride grand marshals.
A fifth member of the Oakland Police Department has tested positive for the coronavirus, police said Wednesday.
The positive test came back Wednesday and the person is self-quarantining offsite. They haven't shown any symptoms and haven't been to work since Tuesday, police said.
Alameda County Superior Court announced Wednesday it will resume hearings for small claims trials, civil harassment, elder abuse, gun violence and domestic violence restraining orders remotely beginning June 1.
Because of Alameda County's ongoing shelter-in-place restrictions due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the court and its clerk's office locations will remain closed to the public.
San Francisco's oldest gay bar The Stud announced Wednesday it's closing its doors for good due to lack of revenue as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Despite a fundraiser and weekly online drag shows, the historic bar at 399 Ninth St. was unable to stay afloat and will close permanently after 55 years.
There have been 87,940 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,581 coronavirus-related deaths in California as of Thursday afternoon according to data from John Hopkins University.
The United States has confirmed 1,576,542 COVID-19 cases and 94,661 coronavirus-related fatalities as of Thursday afternoon.
