San Mateo Harvest Festival Kicks Off the Holiday Season with Over 24,000 One-of-a-Kind Gifts

Largest Indoor Arts and Crafts Show on the West Coast Returns to the San Mateo Event Center

One of the Peninsula’s most popular holiday events, the San Mateo Harvest Festival, will return to the San Mateo Event Center November 11-13 to offer shoppers the best in handmade and embellished gifts, live entertainment, specialty foods, and a hands-on KidZone.

The San Mateo Harvest Festival® Original Art and Craft Show features thousands of American handmade and embellished items, including original art, jewelry, photography, specialty foods, clothing, toys, decor and more. Customers can browse many unique gifts and speak directly to the artists.

“One of the things that makes our show so different is the quality of each item,” said show manager Nancy Glenn. “Everything offered is a one-of-a-kind piece that you won’t find at any mall or big box retail store.”

All the artists who exhibit at the San Mateo Harvest Festival must submit their work for it to be juried into the show. The strict vetting process ensures that all products are made by hand in America by each artist and provides diverse assortment of merchandise.

Tom Rigney and Flambeau, a fiery Cajun/Zydeco band, are one of the main musical acts and have been known to get fans up out of their seats and dancing in the aisles to their furious fiddling performances. Also providing eye-popping entertainment are comedic juggling duo Scotty and Trink. They will dazzle audiences as they perform intricate juggling routines while balancing atop their unicycles.

The Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA will return as the selected charity and will receive half of the proceeds from all shopping bags sold, as well as all the donations collected from the Parcel Check. The PHS will also be holding a mobile adoption center at the front entrance on Saturday and Sunday. And while there is no food bank donation discount this year, patrons can still receive $2 off admission by visiting the Harvest Festival website and printing out a discount coupon to redeem at the show.

Gingerbread-on-the-Go and Nature of Art for Kids will host the KidZone, a specialized area for children to participate in hands on crafting activities. The crafts will include gingerbread cookie decorating and eco friendly art projects. New York Life will also be onsite to offer free Child ID services.

The Harvest Festivals are recognized as one of the top 200 craft shows in the United States by Sunshine Artist Magazine and are the largest indoor arts and crafts shows on the West Coast.
