Sheriff's Officials Nab Suspected Thief in Millbrae

MILLBRAE, CA- A San Francisco man has been arrested in connection with an attempted auto burglary on Saturday in Millbrae, according to sheriff’s officials.

Tyler Ramirez, 24, was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance at 11:00 p.m. at the Aloft Hotel located at 401 E. Millbrae Ave., the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s officials said deputies responded after Ramirez was observed breaking into a locked vehicle at the hotel. Ramirez attempted to flee on foot, and after a brief pursuit he was captured and according to the sheriff’s office, was identified by two independent witnesses as the alleged suspect who was seen breaking into locked vehicles.

Sheriff’s deputies said Ramirez was in possession of stolen property from the scene, burglary tools and suspected methamphetamine.
