2 Arrested In San Rafael Home Depot Armed Robbery
Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month at The Home Depot in San Rafael.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month at The Home Depot in San Rafael.
Gerald Hood, 37, of San Pablo and Thomas Garcia Rodriguez, 22, of Richmond were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to the San Rafael Police Department.
The armed robbery happened at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 2 at The Home Depot at 111 Shoreline Parkway. Two suspects entered the store. Police said one of the suspects had a handgun, approached a cashier and demanded money from the cash registers. After taking the money, the suspects ran out of the store and left in a waiting black Dodge Charger.

Police determined Hood was one of the suspects in the robbery, and he was taken into custody Thursday at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Oakland.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for his home in San Pablo and found evidence related to the robbery, police said. Detectives also learned that Hood was dropped off at the Federal Building by a subject in a black Dodge Charger similar to the one used in the robbery.

Police found the vehicle, which was driven by Rodriguez. Rodriguez was taken into custody, and the vehicle was impounded for evidence.
They were both booked into Marin County Jail.
Novato police, San Pablo police, Oakland police and the U.S. Probation Department assisted San Rafael police with the arrests.
Police said one suspect in the robbery is still outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
