5 Injured In Scaffolding Collapse In Marin County: FD

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Five men were injured, one seriously, after scaffolding and display screens collapsed during event setup at Summit Skywalker Ranch Monday morning, emergency officials said.

Fire crews responded at around 11:20 a.m. to the property on Lucas Valley Road after an initial report that three people were trapped beneath a stage.

The site was being prepared for an event when scaffolding and display screens collapsed, officials said.

Three of the five injured men were taken to local hospitals, including one with a serious head injury, authorities said.

Crews from Marin County Fire, San Rafael Fire and Novato Fire responded to the incident.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the cause of the collapse.

The facility, formerly known as Big Rock Ranch, is separate from the principal Skywalker Ranch property.
