2 Caught On Camera In Marin County Home Burglary: Police
An alert neighbor's surveillance camera footage led to the arrest of two men after they broke into a home, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — Officers arrested two Richmond residents Thursday morning after a neighbor saw them on a surveillance camera breaking into an unoccupied home in the Terra Linda neighborhood, police said.
Alexis Zaid Garcia-Lopez, 22, and Juan Alexi Monasterio-Arredondo, 29, were taken into custody after an alert resident called to report a break-in around 5 a.m. on Thursday. The caller, who was able to view a suspect on a home surveillance camera, reported the incident in the area of Diego Drive and Duran Drive.
Officers said they found one suspect still inside but they refused to comply with officers' directions to surrender and tried to run away from the front of the house but was immediately apprehended. Police said they found property believed to be stolen from the home in the suspect’s backpack and pockets.
