Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP), in partnership with the Marin County Office of Education (MCOE), announced its 2026 Raising Healthy Families Community Education Series.
3/16 session, Call of the Wild: Helping Teens to Resist Extremist Political Ideologies
Presented by Mark Edwards, MFT. A research-informed seminar on how extremist messaging targets youth online, warning signs to watch for, and ways to build resilience, critical thinking, and healthy dialogue at home.
With youth mental health concerns on the rise, parents and caregivers are seeking practical guidance. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 1 in 6 U.S. youth ages 6–17 experiences a mental health disorder each year, and half of all mental health conditions begin by age 14. The Raising Healthy Families series responds to these realities with concrete tools, conversation starters, and early-intervention guidance that caregivers can put to use right away.
“Parents are doing their best in a world that feels like it changes every time you refresh your browser. This series offers practical, compassionate guidance, so caregivers leave with real tools, not just more things to worry about,” Robin Joy Berenson, PhD, LMFT, Executive & Clinical Director, Community Institute for Psychotherapy.
