Swirl, dip, repeat! Create stunning marbled papers in this hands-on 2-hour workshop, all materials included.
Paper marbling has been practiced around the world since the 12th century, transforming ordinary paper into something worthy of reverence-and now it's your turn to give it a try!
In this fast-paced 2-hour workshop, you'll dive hands-first into the mesmerizing world of marbling. You'll create your own assortment of one-of-a-kind papers, perfect for greeting cards, notebook covers, and more. Artist and instructor Suzy Kopf will demonstrate several classic marbling patterns to get you started, but most of your time will be spent experimenting at your very own marbling station-so get ready to make some magic (and maybe a little mess).
Suzy will provide materials and show you how to bind your own journal using a saddle stitch bookbinding technique, so you can create a handmade journal featuring a cover made from the marbled paper you created, ready for your next big idea, sketch, or story.
A few things to know before you come:
Marbling is a wet process, so wear an apron or clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty.
You'll be able to arrange pickup of your dried projects with Marin Art and Garden Center after the workshop.
