Use foraged materials and festive extras to create your own holiday cards, for loved ones or just for fun!
Join Marin-based photographer and printmaker Ben Davidson and photo teacher and artist Laurie Reemsnyder for a creative printmaking workshop using botanical material gathered from the garden grounds and Marin's hills and forests to make playful, seasonal cards for the holidays.
We start with a 20-minute "foraging" walk around the 11-acre garden, collecting evergreen sprigs, seed pods, dried leaves, and other winter treasures. Then we head to the Cottage for a 60-minute printmaking session, using the cyanotype (photo) process if the day is sunny. On an overcast day, we will use our plant material to create elegant botanical stencil prints.
All participants will make cards to bring home, and will also receive a wooden frame to showcase their favorite creation from this fun and informative nature walk and printmaking workshop.
