Controlled Burn Conducted In Marin County
Residents may see or smell smoke in the Big Rock area west of Lucas Valley.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – If you see or smell smoke in the Big Rock area west of Lucas Valley, chances are it's nothing to be concerned about, fire officials said.
Firefighters from the Marin County Fire Department are conducting a controlled burn between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday. The controlled burn, which will help reduce the amount of brush piles in the area, will take place in the area of 3000 Lucas Valley Road.
In an effort to help reduce 911 calls about the controlled burn, fire officials advised the public about the scheduled burn and also reminded residents about Marin County Fire Department's debris reduction program.

"Only call 911 if you are facing a life threatening emergency," officials said on social media.
