County Seeks Input On Bike, Pedestrian Route Connecting Marin County To East Bay

The county wants suggestions on the vital route connecting Larkspur, San Rafael and the East Bay via the San Rafael-Richmond Bridge

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County is hosting a public workshop this Thursday to gather feedback on proposed bicycle and pedestrian access improvements along a vital route connecting Larkspur, San Rafael and the East Bay via the San Rafael-Richmond Bridge.

The workshop, organized by the Marin County Department of Public Works, follows a "Rails-to-Trails walk and talk" on Wednesday. The Rails-to-Trails team will focus on strategies for closing key gaps in the San Francisco Bay Trail, particularly the East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard segment.

The County is urging residents, especially those who walk, bike, or roll through the corridor, to attend the public workshop on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Drakes Landing Community Room, located at 300 Drakes Landing Road in Greenbrae.

Attendees will receive a presentation outlining the current access challenges, including the gap in connectivity for walkers and cyclists. County staff will discuss near-term "quick build" pedestrian and bicycle enhancements currently in design, and will specifically request input on longer-term improvement options.

The meeting will include maps and conceptual information to help participants understand the potential path alignments, constraints, and considerations for path locations. The goal is to develop options that will enhance the roadway for users of all ages and abilities on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
