In Celebration of Mothers is special day of recognition, offering the opportunity for women and men to honor their mothers, to celebrate Center for Domestic Peace’s 35 years of services and commitment to healthy families, and to raise funds for this life-giving organization.
This year, award-winning singer and composer Kathryn Keats will share her harrowing journey to freedom from abuse – surviving 54 days of captivity before going underground for 20 years with a new identity, all the while putting her budding music career on hold. Only after learning of her abuser’s death was she finally able to go public. Kathryn’s story is one of courage, tenacity, inspiration and hope. Currently, she is collaborating with Grammy-winning music producer Narada Michael Walden. She is also developing a musical stage production based on her life story. More information about Kathryn Keats is available at www.KathrynKeats.com.
The event will include a robust and creative silent auction, a raffle of specially-themed baskets, and some added surprises.
