Family-friendly Faire on Sunday features Little Auto Shop of Horrors; racetrack

Autistry Studios, a Marin-based nonprofit serving teens and adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences, will be holding its second annual Autistry Faire on Sunday, October 27, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at 37 Duffy Place in San Rafael.

The carnival-style fundraiser is fun for all ages and will feature a “Little Auto Shop of Horrors,” face painting, cardboard costumes and crafts, games of skill and chance, and a huge cardboard racetrack for remote-controlled cars.

This unique racetrack is being designed and built by Autistry staff and students. It is 40 feet long and covered in 2,000 sq. ft. of recycled cardboard. Faire-goers will have a chance to race a remote-controlled car on the track during the Faire.

Entertainment includes live performances by bands Beso Negro and Marble Party, plus belly dancing by Raks Rosa Dance Co. It is a family-friendly fundraiser with activities for all ages.

Entrance to the Faire costs $20 to $40 and comes with a starter pack of game and booth tickets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase with tickets.

Come in a costume for extra game tickets! For details or to buy entry ahead of time, go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/427597; however, reservations are not required.
