Gina Fromer Joins the YMCA of the East Bay as Vice President/Regional Executive Director, West Contra Costa Region
The YMCA of the East Bay has announced their new Vice President/Regional Executive Director, West Contra Costa Region: Gina Fromer

The YMCA of the East Bay announced today that Gina Fromer has been hired to fulfill the role of Vice President/Regional Executive Director of the West Contra Costa Region.
In her new position, Ms. Fromer will oversee the West Contra Costa Region’s $16 million budget including operations at the Hilltop Family YMCA fitness center and the EM Downer YMCA community-based branch—as well as more than 50 program locations which offer licensed early childcare and child development centers, after-school educational and enrichment programs, youth sports clinics and leagues, teen leadership programs, school-based health and mental health counseling services, support for military families and other community services that support and nurture youth and their families.
Speaking of her extensive experience, Don Lau, Interim President and CEO of the YMCA of the East Bay said, “We are fortunate to be able to welcome Gina and we look forward to her continued leadership in our West Contra Costa Region.”

Ms. Fromer has been deeply committed to the West Contra Costa community for many years and has been involved with park design and development work across Richmond, work on the Point Molate Master Plan with the City of Richmond, work on the Richmond Greenway, and service on the board for Richmond Main Street. She formerly worked as the California State Director for The Trust for Public Land based in San Francisco for more than 2 1/2 years, a non-profit organization that protects land and creates parks for people. Prior to that position, she was District Vice President for the YMCA of San Francisco. Over the course of her 14-year career in SF, Gina held several positions, including Urban Services YMCA and the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA, as well as overseeing multiple branches.
A native Californian, Gina has been honored with numerous regional awards including the prestigious Jefferson Award for Community Service in 2012 and the KQED Local Heroes Award in 2013. She holds a M.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Dominican University in San Rafael.
