Lucas Valley Road Reopens After Gas Tanker Crash
Lucas Valley Road reopened Monday morning after a gasoline tanker truck overturned Sunday.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Lucas Valley Road reopened Monday morning after a gasoline tanker truck overturned Sunday.
The tanker truck overturned shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday on a sharp turn on the roadway on which vehicles over 36 feet long are not allowed. About 200 gallons of fuel was believed to have leaked from the tanker truck, while about 6,700 gallons remained in the tanker, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. Crews worked to safely offload the remaining gallons of gas before the wreckage could be removed and the roadway could reopen.
Lucas Valley Road was closed east of Big Rock and west of Westgate Drive while crews removed the tanker truck. The closure affected motor vehicles as well as bicyclists and pedestrians, officials said.
