Marin County Free Library Forgives Fines
The "fine forgiveness" period runs through the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend on Monday, Jan. 21.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County Free Library is forgiving fines this holiday season.
The "fine forgiveness" period runs through the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend on Monday, Jan. 21, at all Marin County Free Library branches. The program, which began in late November, waives fines for the late returns of borrowed materials.
Fines for adult patrons are normally 25 cents per day for overdue items or $1 per day for items from the Link+ system, a connection with a consortium of libraries throughout California and Nevada. Fees max out at $6 per item, according to the county. Patrons need to pay down their balance to check out items if they owe more than $10.
