Marin Firefighters Help Battle Lane, Pawnee Fires In NorCal
A total of 30 local firefighters are working alongside other agencies offering mutual aid, according to Marin County Fire Department.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Firefighters from Marin County are helping battle two fires and assisting various counties across Northern California. A total of 30 local firefighters are working alongside other agencies offering mutual aid, according to Marin County Fire Department.
On Monday, an 18-member strike team from Marin County helped fight the Lane Fire, northwest of Red Bluff off Highway 36 in Tehama County, near Paynes Creek.
In addition, Marin had four firefighting personnel activated with the North Bay Incident Management Team at the Pawnee Fire, east of Clear Lake, and three others in solo roles at other locations. Marin also had a two-person bulldozer team stationed in Middletown in Lake County and two three-person engine crews covering stations in Santa Rosa and southern Napa.

California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency Monday in Lake County, where the Pawnee Fire has scorched 11,500 acres and destroyed 22 homes and other structures. As of Tuesday morning, the blaze was 5 percent contained but was still threatening at least 600 structures.
