SAN RAFAEL, CA — Crews in San Rafael on Monday morning started performing tree work along PG&E powerlines at multiple locations throughout the city.

The project is expected to take about a week to complete, city officials said.

Trees that fall or grow into power lines can cause power outages and create fire hazards according to PG&E.

Traffic control will be in be in effect for the duration of the project, city officials said. Motorists are advised to traverse with caution.
