San Rafael Police Offer Free Vehicle Anti-Theft Devices
In the past year, there have been 290 vehicles reported stolen within the city of San Rafael, according to police.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Owners of older Honda Civics and Honda Accords in San Rafael can get free vehicle anti-theft devices, thanks to San Rafael police.
The San Rafael Police Department, in partnership with Winner International, the maker of "The Club" steering wheel locks, is offering free vehicle anti-theft devices in an effort to reduce the theft of highly-targeted stolen vehicles.
A car is stolen every 23 seconds, according to FBI crime statistics.

In the past year, police said there have been 290 vehicles reported stolen within the city of San Rafael.
Over the past five years, the most frequently stolen vehicles have been late 1980s and early 1990s models of Toyota Camry, Honda Civic and Honda Accord because they are easier to steal, according to police. In fact, the most targeted vehicles last year in San Rafael included 54 Honda Civics and 44 Honda Accords.

To help reduce vehicle thefts, the department purchased a limited supply of "The Club Model 3000 – Twin Hooks." The anti-theft devices are available at no charge to the owners of 1990–1999 Honda Civics and Accords that are registered in San Rafael.
