San Rafael Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Battery

A woman reported that she had been attacked by a man on a path behind Pickleweed Park and again on a path near Target in June in San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A teenager was arrested this week on suspicion of sexual battery over the summer in San Rafael, authorities reported.

A woman contacted San Rafael police around 10:50 a.m. on June 18, reporting that she had been attacked by a man on a path behind Pickleweed Park and again on a path near Target, according to the San Rafael Police Department.

The victim, a 46-year-old San Rafael resident, said she was jogging back and forth on the path when the suspect came up from behind her and grabbed her body three separate times, police said. The victim fought back each time and was able to get away.

In August, police released a sketch of the suspect, as well as a picture taken by a witness, and asked for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.

Police received leads regarding the possible identity of the suspect this week. After further investigation, a 15-year-old from San Rafael was arrested and booked on suspicion of sexual battery, according to San Rafael police. Police said no further details will be released regarding the suspect or the arrest location due to his age.
