“Weaver’s has won legions of fans throughout the Bay Area and beyond,” said Levine.  “It is my pleasure to present this year’s Business of the Year award to Weaver’s Coffee & Tea.”

Founded by John Weaver (former master roaster for Peet’s Coffee & Tea), Michael Brown, and Bryce Inouye, Weaver’s Coffee & Tea roasts every batch to unlock the full, inherent potential unique to each lot of coffee.  Accepting the award at a Sacramento luncheon of the California Small Business Association were John Weaver and Michael Brown (CEO of Wild Card Roasters, parent company of Weaver’s).

Since its inception in 2007, Weaver’s has won numerous awards, including being named “Best-Tasting Organic Coffee” by the NBC Today Show.  Weaver’s fresh, hand-roasted artisan coffees and fine teas are available through specialty grocery and gourmet food stores as well as on their website.

Wild Card Roasters has its roasting facility and its branded Weaver’s Coffee & Tea retail store in San Rafael.   They also maintain representative/sales offices in Southern California, Tokyo, and Hawaii.  The company is an accomplished, artisan coffee and tea company providing comprehensive, corporate solutions in the areas of sourcing, wholesale, retail, licensing, training and consulting for specialty beverage programs around the world.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Weaver.  “We are grateful to Assemblymember Levine and the community for the support they have shown us over the years.”

Levine made his second floor Capitol office available this afternoon to Weaver’s, where they served their Organic Blend Coffee to Members of the Legislature and more than 200 Capitol staff.
